Sharing: Self Discovery in Relationships a pilot online course with the Institute of Metaphysical Studies. Based on the book by Kathy Oddenino, R.N., and led by Kathy, the course is an in-depth study of the concept of sharing as a consummate experience of self discovery. Through each relationship in our life—with immediate family, lovers, friends, people in other cultures, ethnic groups and others—we learn about our own self. You are challenged in this course to gain a greater appreciation of all your relationships as experiences of self discovery. Discovering our self is our path of learning, and learning is the way our soul evolves.

Course Format: Sharing runs in an 7-week format, and entails a rigorous program of study that includes -

1. Video mini-lectures by Kathy
2. Textbook reading (Sharing: Self Discovery in Relationships – available at Amazon.com)
3. Text introductions
4. Discussions with fellow students
5. Personal journal writing
6. Group audio conferences with Kathy using Skype
7. Contact with a teaching assistant

Course Time Commitment: Roughly 5 hours per week (reading/viewing/writing/communicating), depending upon your learning preferences

Computing Requirements:

• A computer (PC/Windows or Macintosh)
• A reliable, broadband Internet connection, e.g., satellite or cable (but not dial-up, which is too slow)
• An email address
• Good processing speed (1 gigabyte of RAM minimum)
• Skype (free download for Windows or Mac)
• A headset microphone
• Optional: a webcam

Logging In: The IMS Online School is open to all users, but individual courses are only accessible by registered users. You are given a username, password and login instructions when you register.
